All of K9U’s classes are geared towards building a positive relationship between you and your pet based on mutual understanding and trust. Susan has a knack for teaching people how to communicate effectively with their dog without the use of force or corrections. K9U classes emphasize the importance of rewarding your dog for the behaviors you want, and re-directing the behaviors you want to avoid.

All classes are taught using the Clicker, a tool that helps us help dogs understand which behaviors we want from them. Since dogs do not speak or understand English, we can improve our communication with them by being clear and consistent. The clicker makes a clear and easily identifiable sound each time it is depressed, and by consistently marking and rewarding the behavior we want from our dogs, they will learn to repeat those behaviors again and again. Moreover, we can have fun while training our canine companions, without the use of force or other old-fashioned methods.
